Terms of service
Last updated 25 July 2026
1. Agreement
By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 16 years old.
2. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything done through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised. Changing your password signs out every other device. We may suspend an account that is being used in breach of these terms; suspension takes effect immediately across all devices.
3. What the service does
PublishBench helps you research, plan, write and prepare video content. It uses third-party AI models to generate text and images, and the YouTube Data API to retrieve public video statistics.
Generated output is a starting point, not a finished product. Language models can produce inaccurate statements. You are responsible for verifying any factual claim before publishing it.
Scores are heuristics. The opportunity score is a ranking aid computed from measured YouTube statistics using a formula we publish in full. It does not predict performance and carries no guarantee. We do not provide search volume, RPM, CPM or revenue figures because those are not obtainable, and we make no representation about the commercial results of using this service.
4. Credits
- Actions consume credits at the rates published on the pricing page and shown in the interface before each action.
- Plan credits are granted at the start of each billing period and do not roll over. Credits purchased as a top-up do not expire and are consumed after the plan allowance.
- If an operation fails, the credits charged for it are returned automatically. This is our sole remedy for a failed generation.
- Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and are not refundable for money except where required by law.
5. Billing
- Paid plans renew automatically at the interval you chose until cancelled. Payment is processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details.
- You can change or cancel your plan at any time through the billing portal. Cancelling keeps access until the end of the period you have already paid for; we do not prorate refunds for a partial period unless required by law.
- If a payment fails we may retry it and, after a reasonable dunning period, downgrade the account to the free plan. Your content is not deleted when this happens.
- Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload, import or generate content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights. When you upload a file you are attesting that you hold the rights to it.
- Use the article-to-script or video-to-script features to republish someone else's work. These produce an original treatment of a subject and include a similarity check; that check is an aid, not a licence.
- Generate content that is unlawful, harassing, deceptive, or sexualises minors.
- Attempt to access another user's data, probe or bypass our rate limits and security controls, or use automated means to extract data at scale.
- Resell the service or expose it as a competing API without our written agreement.
- Use the service in a way that breaches the YouTube Terms of Service or Google's API policies.
Generation inputs are screened by an automated moderation check. We may refuse or terminate service for breach of this section.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you upload and everything generated for you. You grant us only the licence needed to operate the service: to store your content, and to transmit the relevant parts to the AI providers that fulfil your requests. We do not use your content to train models, and we do not publish it.
Ownership of AI-generated output can vary by jurisdiction, and identical or similar output may be produced for another user from a similar prompt. We make no warranty that generated output is unique or protectable.
8. Our content
The PublishBench name, interface, copy, scoring methodology and software are ours. These terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service. They do not transfer any intellectual property.
9. Third-party services
The service depends on third parties — AI providers, Google/YouTube, Stripe and our hosting providers. Their availability is outside our control, and their own terms apply to your use of them through us. PublishBench is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google.
10. Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, change features, or discontinue the service with reasonable notice. If we discontinue it entirely, you will be able to export your data first.
11. Warranties and liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100. We are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost views, or indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings; deletion is permanent and removes your content and stored files. We may suspend or terminate an account for breach of these terms, giving notice where it is reasonable to do so. Sections 7, 8, 11 and 13 survive termination.
13. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified to signed-in users before taking effect; continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept them. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
These terms are governed by the law of the operator's principal place of business, and the courts there have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available where you live.
